Club Street Social is a small little bistro along Gemmill Lane, a somewhat secluded corner from Club Street, which offers all-day breakfasts & coffee. The place is a popular spot for expats with it’s Italian-inspired food & Manhattan chic decor. The bistro has already been considered to be one of the best places for brunch by a few people.

When I first heard of Club Street Social, I actually thought it was some sort of clubbing event or social gathering. Turns out, it was actually a physical place that serves brunch. (Hey, at one point I even thought that The Butter Factory was an actual butter factory. Oops.) I know, I know, I need to get out more… food blogging is helping me do that.

Aesthetic
Now the one thing that Club Street Social is known for is their decor & aesthetic. The place is wonderfully designed like a bar in Manhattan. The place makes use of dark wooden elements, with a long bar counter on one side of the bistro. Along with high ceilings, art deco lamps, brick walls & a high wall shelf that showcases bottles of alchohol, you can’t help but feel like you are right in the City That Never Sleeps. It’s all very elegant & definitely a nice change from the horde of cafes with vintage-industrial interiors. I’m going to remember this place if I ever were to do a photo shoot.

Food
Club Street Social offers a nice extensive list of brunch dishes, with a small selection of all-day breakfasts items. They also offer a few mains & paninis that seem popular among the expats that visit the place. What I like about their food is that it’s different from the usual brunch offerings. The food here also has an elegant yet simplistic quality which is a complement to the interior style of the place. Club Street Social is also known for their range of drinks, which include cocktails & wines.

Prices for Club Street Social are more towards the higher end of things. Mains hovers around the 20 dollar mark. If you are looking for more affordable options, stick to their Breakfast selection. They also charge service fees & GST, so take note.

Latte ($5.50) My friends & I actually spotted this latte art that another customer had on Instagram. My friend showed the staff the photo & asked for the same latte art; to which the staff gave a chuckle. (Probably because it was more for kids and we were a bunch of grown-a** guys.) The staff did manage to do it for us anyway, which was fantastic though a bit embarrassing.

Goat Cheese, Sumac & Honey Crostini ($13) I actually saw this somewhere, either on Instagram or on their Facebook page & so decided to give it a try as I wanted something different. Let's just say that both my friends & I were not fans of goat cheese. Perhaps I should have gone with the duck rillette or prawn crostini.

This was really delicious. Simple but highly satisfying. Lovely runny yolk, great Fontina cheese & a nice hint of truffle. You should really try this if you're ever at Club Street Social.

Mushroom Cream Gnocchi with Parmesan ($18) My friends & I were actually cafehopping that day, and this was the first stop. Hence, we didn't want something too heavy. It was essentially a toss-up between this & the risotto. After asking the staff for their recommendation, I settled with the gnocchi. I made the right choice, it was really good. The mushroom cream was delicious. This dish was gone within a matter of minutes.

Nutella Bread Pudding ($12) With Vanilla Ice-cream This was pretty nice, a good way to end off the meal. Soft & warm on the inside, not too sweet. There wasn't a strong Nutella taste though, which I would have preferred.

Worth A Visit/Revisit?
Club Street Social is definitely a nice place for a good brunch. Though I do find their prices a tad high for me, the food is good enough for a revisit. I also absolutely adore the interior design & could probably chill out here all day. Even if you’re just looking for a cup of coffee, do check out Club Street Social just for the nice vibes & aesthetic.
