Storefront of Brunetti.

Brunetti is an Italian cafe at Tanglin Mall that serves numerous cakes, pastries, bread and every other dessert you can think of. Originating from Australia, Brunetti is a Gelateria, Cioccolateria, Pasticceria all rolled into one. No wonder it is quite the popular place for expats and locals living in the area to drop by when they are feeling peckish.
Interior of Brunetti. Homely Italian feel.
The whole feel of Brunetti makes you feel like you are actually in a cafe in Italy. Mosaic tiles fill the floor, counter walls and wall partitions. With white ceiling mouldings and rectangular hanging lamps, Brunetti’s decor is simple yet beautiful. All of Brunetti’s extensive desserts selection are lined in their long counters that doesn’t seem to end. It can get a bit confusing when you want to make an order. “Order Here” signs are laid out at every counter, this is to facilitate people who want to order a specific dessert at a specific counter. However, this can sometimes create a bit of confusion and if you’re not too careful, you may get cut in line or missed by the server.
Look at all those macarons!
Cakes, cakes and more cakes.
They even have chocolate. Lots and lots of it.
And even Gelato! Brunetti has everything to offer.

Besides desserts that lined the counters, Brunetti also serves savoury food.
As you can see from the photos above, Brunetti has an extensive list of food, desserts, pastries & gelato to choose from. You’ll probably be overwhelmed by the array of desserts they offer when you first enter the place. Prices for Brunetti ranges from the average to above average. You’ll definitely have a problem of over-ordering if you are not too careful as there are just too many things to try.
Wild Mushroom Soup ($8)
Not bad, but a tad too salty for my taste. Got a bit much after a while.
Homemade Tagliatelle ($18)
With chicken, mushrooms, truffle & cream sauce
This was also not bad but my main gripe with this dish was that it tasted extremely similar to the Mushroom soup. And I hate, really hate, pastas that use soup bases as their cream sauce. So I would recommend that you order either one and not both.
Margherita Pizza ($16)
Fresh tomato, cherry tomato, Buffalo mozzarella, Basil. With added Prosciutto ham & Rucola [Rocket leaves] (additional $6)
After seeing another review, I decided to order the same pizza with additional toppings as it looked really good. I always need some meat on my pizza. And Rucola makes a pizza so much more attractive.
Yes, Brunetti also has Cronuts (Did I forget to mention them?) They come in Vanilla Custard, Nutella or Strawberry. I’ve had them a while back during my hunt for Cronuts and back then they also had Chocolate.
They are a pretty good representatives of Cronuts, though they tend to break apart easy when you are trying to eat them. If you are looking for more Cronuts, you can also try Da Paolo Gastronomia. Their “Crodos” are also as good.
Dolce Amore ($8)
Strawberry Mousseline with strawberry confit, Coconut sponge
This is a MUST try at Brunetti. Not only does it look cute, it tastes really great. One of my favourites. You’ll like this if you’re the type of person who prefers a higher cream to cake ratio.
Strawberry Tart Mignon, Opera Mignon, Raspberry Opera Mignon ($2.90 each)
A mixture of mini-desserts that my companion had. If you are overwhelmed by what to try, these mini-desserts make for an easier choice to try more things.
Hot Chocolate with whipped cream
Rich chocolate flavor.
Macaron Tower ($49) 24 Assorted Flavors Mango, Raspberry, Rose Water, Vanilla (Blue), Pistachio, Tiramisu, Lemon Cheese, Blackcurrant, Nutella, Passionfruit, Salted Caramel Now this is one gorgeous piece isn’t it? A macaron tower/pyramid. Great for parties or potlucks. I couldn’t eat that many macarons, but the whole piece was so exquisite that I had to get it. (That’s how crazy of a foodie I am) The macarons themselves are pretty good. Great flavors, nice crunchy textures of the shells, soft on the inside. Too much food colouring though, it will definitely linger around your mouth & tongue.
Worth A Visit/Revisit?
Brunetti is a definite must to visit. With their extensive list of food and dessert options, there will be something for everyone. I do recommend the desserts more than the savoury food items, those did not leave much of an impression on me. I’ll go back to try more of their desserts and even their gelato.
